RESULT: Dismissed State Attorney's Office Dismisses Miami Cocaine Trafficking Case During an investigation into a Miami Beach drug trafficking ring, our client was arrested for cocaine trafficking. Miami Beach narcotics detectives entered a Miami Beach apartment to question suspected cocaine dealers. While in the apartment, narcotics detectives spoke to with the tenants regarding the delivery of a shipment of cocaine. The police waited for our client in the street, drew their badges and guns and dragged our client from his car. The police recovered a kilo of cocaine from a hidden compartment in the vehicle. The lawyers at DMT filed a motion to suppress the cocaine. As a result of an illegal stop and seizure, the judge suppressed all of the evidence in the cases, including the kilo of cocaine. With no evidence to prosecute the case, the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office dismissed the cocaine trafficking case against our client.

RESULT: Dismissed Sexual Battery Suspect Has Charge Dismissed Our client traveled from California with two of his friends to vacation on South Beach. He met a young lady while hanging out at one of the beach resorts. The victim went with the three men to their hotel room. After leaving the room, the alleged victim reported that she had been sexually battered by the three men. Investigators contracted by the criminal attorneys DMT, were able to obtain surveillance video from both hotels to support our defense. The woman appeared extremely intoxicated and flirtatious on the video footage. The rape treatment kit did not reveal any signs of force. With this evidence in hand, the prosecution decided no action or dismiss all charges prior to the arraignment.

RESULT: Dismissed DUI Charge Dismissed against Coral Gables Driver A City of Miami police officer reportedly observed our client operating his car in a dangerous and reckless manner. Uniform officers from the City of Miami responded and ultimately stopped the driver within the City of Coral Gables. The police reported that the driver drove his car onto a residential sidewalk and over a curb. The driver appeared incoherent. He nearly fell out of the car and had to be physically aided by police officers. Due to his physical condition, no roadside exercises were requested or performed. At the station, the driver refused to provide a breath sample (blow into the intoxilyzer). As a result, his driver's license was immediately suspended for one year. The driver called and scheduled a free consultation with the Miami DUI lawyers at DMT. Since the driver acted quickly and retained our firm, our Miami DUI lawyers were able to represent him at the license suspension hearing with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. We won the hearing and his driver's license was reinstated. We filed a motion to dismiss the charges due to the fact that the City of Miami Police Department made an arrest outside their jurisdiction. At the trial setting, the assistant state attorney dropped the charges.

RESULT: Reduced Client Facing 20 Years in Miami Cocaine Trafficking Case Sentenced to 24 Months Our client traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and attempted to purchase 10 kilograms of cocaine in exchange for $180,000.00 from undercover DEA agents. The entire transaction was caught on video and audio tape by the authorities in a restaurant parking lot. Our firm managed to get one of the counts dismissed. At sentencing, the lawyers at DMT argued that our client played a minor role in the offense. Despite the fact that the lawyer from the United States Attorney's Office objected vehemently to our arguments, the Federal Judge granted our client the 1000 hour drug course and the minor role. The efforts of our Federal Miami criminal attorney resulted in less than eighteen months incarceration for our client.

RESULT: Charges Dropped Coast Guard Service Members have Charges Dropped Stemming from Miami Beach Arrests Two Coast Guard Service members were arrested by over-zealous City of Miami and Miami Beach Police Departments for fleeing and eluding police officers and possessing firearms. The Miami military law lawyer at DMT convinced the Miami State Attorney's Office to drop the charges against both clients, thereby saving their military careers.
